About lunchtime, I got a phone call from National Public Radio's "All Things Considered." While I didn't get interviewed on the air, I told them Corky Fulton (who they DID interview) would be even better as he's been in the shoe business: http://discover.npr.org/rundowns/segment.jhtml?wfId=1329318 FWIW: Great interview!

- Recommendation for good eyebrow pencil
- Posted on 07-11-2003 | 5 Comments
I have been using a Juvena eyebrow pencil that I found on closeout at Ulta. I need to replace it but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have a source for this? I have searched on-line with no luck. Since it is doubtful I can locate one, does anyone have a recommendation for a good eyebrow pencil? Kathi B.

Some history... 27 years old, haven't baked outside or tanned on purpose in over 10 years. Only 2 burns that I know of. Always tanned easily and very quickly, which is odd given how pale I am. Had a cancerous mole removed 4 years ago. Diagnosed with RA last year and have to take an ANA titer yearly to check for lupus, was told in no uncertain terms to avoid sun exposure at any and all costs. I have known for a decade that the sun is my enemy and have done my best to avoid it.

"Mpamber" wrote "kayper" wrote Two months-- no clothes, accessories, hair care, skin care, or makeup. I was trying for three months, but the willpower isn't what I thought it was. I have enough of all of these things that I wouldn't *have* to re-buy for, hmmm, probably a year. Two months forced me to actually use the sheer ridiculous amount of stuff I already have. And boy, did I save a *lot* of money.

- Tanning

Hi... I recently started suntanning in a salon to get a base tan before my vacation. I seem to be developing a nice tan in some places and no colour change in others. Particularly the sides of my body seem to have no tan... while the front is quite deep in colour now... What can I do? Thanks

- Any Sunscreen Free Liquid Foundations out there????
- Posted on 07-11-2003 | 7 Comments
I found out that the Bobbi Brown moisture rich liquid foundation contains the chemical sunscreen octylmethoxycinnimate. Can anyone recommend a very similar liquid foundation as far as texture and coverage but withouth the sunscreen??? I break out in hives and get stinging from the chemical sunscreen. I prefer foundation without any sunscreen and then I can mix a few drops of my physical sunscreen with it.

I buy lots of stuff at WalMart and other discount stores! The White Stag line at WalMart is really a favorite. I have even found very simple but cute knit tops at Big Lots. Found a bra there once, too, and it was far more comfortable than some of my other more expensive ones. Payless, yes! Love it. Where else could you get 3 pairs of shoes for under $20? Target is another great place for shoes/sandals. And pocketbooks! Saving money on clothes and shoes gives me more $$ for cosmetics at...

I'm so happy- I've thrown out all my cotton underwear (except 3) to be replaced with Mary Green boy shorts, the most comfy I've ever worn. I have 3 thongs as well, they're super nice too but the boy shorts, ahhhhh It's the little things in life like no elastic. Anyone else done an overhaul lately? Next I'm eyeing my sock drawer and they're getting nervous. Moe

I use lip pencil every day. I line and fill in with pencil, and this provides a good base for my lipstick. I prefer sheer lipsticks over my lip pencil, but will also use mattes. I probably have 30 lip pencils in varying colors/brands, but I'm currently using Prestige Angora on a daily basis. As a matter of fact, I just picked up 3 more at Walgreen's this afternoon. Linda
