Summer's palling, fall's calling
Posted on 07-12-2003 | 16 Comments

It's 8,000 degrees F outside (or at least that what it feels like) and, while wearing a light top, short skirt and the slide of the moment fresh from my closet, I'm looking through magazines thinking, "I can't wait to wear purple velvet." In many parts of the US, summer's just getting started after a long winter. Not that I despise wearing summer clothes and doing summer things, but I've almost had my fill of summer and am turning my eye toward fall. I haven't really looked too much at the...

Hi... I have quite a big birthmark on my shoulder. It's not a mole, just discoloration birthmark. Is there any way other than lazer therapy that will help this? Thanks

Conditioning bath cream/gel

I am looking for something to soak in the tub with that will condition/soften my skin. I would rather not use any oil type product as it makes the tub slippery and messy to clean.

"Parakeet" <abuse@spamabuse.org> wrote in message news:7c1pgvoeput5umc9gmmli2mvp1fqd0eovo@4ax.com... This may sound nuts for hot weather, but roasting a nice bit of boneless beef gives you a lot of really nice easy to use meat that you can snack on etc, and the roast meat lasts a while in the fridge. And although it is cooking, you don't have to hover over it and you don't have to do it very day.

These are a little off the beaten path, but *The Wedding Banquet*, *Ridicule* and *The Last Supper* are all laugh out loud funny. For more mainstream, *Meet The Parents* and *Death to Smoochy* had us howling. ~~Geri~~ "... there's no crying in baseball!" "A League of Their Own"

Re: anyone wear minimizer bras?

LOL, I used to live near Devon Ave. in chicago, my first bras were from a little store where three older Jewish ladies ruled. As a child, I thought their boobs looked like torpedos.

A New Fashion Newslaetter

Well it has been a really long time since I've been here & it's kind of neat to see some familiar names. Mostly I've been busy with ebay. It's like a full time job if you want to make money. Also trying to keep the shop open, and a little heart surgery last year. (well let's just say it was something more than what they like to call a procedure). Anyway, my latest endeaver is a free fashion newsletter -- subscription only. Some of you who are busy on ebay might find it interesting.

Vidal Sasson Deep Treatment Therapy
Posted on 07-12-2003 | 2 Comments

It appears that VS went off the market, and their Deep Treatment Therapy was the best conditioner I used. It really moisturized my dry hair, and I used it as a leave-in conditioner to deal with my frizzy hair. Is there anything else like it on the market? Thanks. -Jennifer

Sophie writes: I'm waiting for an order I placed at Luckyscent on July 1st. I received an email on the 10th stating they'd sent my order out, recapping that I'd placed the order on July 9th. I'm not too happy with it taking 9 days for them just to receive/acknowledge the order, much less send it out! Linda

Have these been mentioned (deliberately omitting many of my favorites which have been mentioned already)? Better Off Dead Tapeheads A New Leaf (Elaine May is absolutely exquisite--but I am not sure it's available on DVD) Stripes (really, just about anything with Bill Murray) Dogma (really, just about anything by Kevin Smith) Barton Fink

Re: OT: what did you have for *dinner*

Last night was the very classy Tater Tot Casserole (was actually very good, first time I'd made it). Tomorrow will be rack of lamb with some kind of veg and mashed potatoes. No idea for tonight.

I've found that thinly sliced turkey from the deli helps a great deal. I use the deli turkey in place of a usual snack to help add the required protein and it's also easier for me to have on hand than pre-cooked chicken. Dawn

Re: Why do men's and women's shirts button on different sides?
Posted on 07-12-2003 | 1 Comments

You won't believe it......swords. At one time, all clothes wrapped/buttoned the same way, with right over left (women's style). But for a right-handed man, this leaves a gap that could foul your sword hilt when drawing. Remember, you're drawing left-to-right. So the sides were switched on men's clothing to make the left side overlap the right. V/R: Mike M.
