Over dinner tonight, we had an odd conversation
and a part of my past came up which my son (13
years of age) remembered, but didn't know the
whole story.

I was raised as a Christian in the United Church
of Canada, yet never really followed the life or
belief.

Mum however, was devoted to St John's United
Church and well, guess we all grew up there in one
way or another.

However, I did leave with that idealism and never
really believed we are all alone, or rather
infinity could mean much more.

Where I'm going with this is that I truly believe
there is life after death and this is why...

About a year (honestly, I forget exactly when)
mum, who had cancer for years said to me, that if
there is life after death, she'd send me a blue
budgie.

So mum passed on but was lucky enough to hold my
son Spencer once in the cancer clinic at a Regina
hospital.

One day, when Spencer was around three years of
age, he opened the door to the driveway and asked
me, "Where'd this bird come from?"

A blue budgie was at our door and not afraid at
all...I looked and of course was shocked, but
somewhat comforted as well knowing (or at least
believing) where that bird came from.

The purpose of this post is just to say, I believe
we don't actually lose our loved ones, we just
change how we keep together. Life goes on forever
and nobody really goes away...

Take care and I send my love/thoughts to all those
who know what I'm saying and especially to those
who don't...

Sincerely

Dennis Ruddell

Dennis, my mom died in April, and my 2 sisters believe that she has sent them
each a stray animal. (1 cat, 1 dog). When my dad died 2 years ago, he sent
dimes.
