Vita-betic Vitamins
Posted by Sugarbear

Hi,

I am interested to know if any of you know anything about Vita-betic
vitamins. Are they safe? Is there any concern about the proprietary herbal
blend they contain?

Thanks in Advance for your help.

WELL, if they contain a "proprietary herbal blend" they are obviously
not only worthless, but dangerous. If it says "herbs" stay AWAY

You probably should not be taking vitimines at ALL.

Check with your doctor. BOTH the FDA and the EU warn that you need a
balanced diet, and should only take vitimines if you actually have a
shortage of something, and THEN, NEVER in mega-doses, only in the
amounts actually needed.

The Americian public is scammed for over a billion dollars in
unnecessary vitimines every year, and evidence is comming out that they
may not be just unnecessary, but actually BAD for you

Hi there Paige,

You've just hit on a major clue - NO ONE KNOWS!

Such preparations are not regulated or examined for safety or
efficacy. Some promoters of such things have been prosecuted for
making unsubstanciated claims or causing actual damage to health.
If you're lucky, they'll do no more than just lighten your wallet.
Even in the very best of herbal products, which have an active
ingredient that may be helpful and has been scientifically tested,
can vary in amounts according to the growing season and the
elements, and there is no guarantee whether you are getting the
desired substance in the correct amounts. Too little and it's a
waste of time, too much and it can be dangerous.

If you really want to make sure you are getting all the best of
nutrition, start looking at the nutritional content of ordinary
foods, and go for the best of them. The low carb, high level
nutritional foods not only improve your overall health, but help to
control your bg levels as well. A good place to start is;
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/cgi-bin/nut_search.pl

or you can enter the desired element in your search engine along
with the words "best food sources".
Of course with that one you will get the commercial sites that want
to sell you a pill. Be discriminating.

If you DO decide to try a herb anyway, please discuss it with your
doctor first. He needs to know. There are lots of hidden dangers.
