**UPDATE** Advice on pneumonia
Posted by SherryWd

After reading the replies I got last night, I was really pissed off! I
thought "Why the hell did I even bother asking!?!" After sleeping on it and
thinking about it, I got a little nervous about taking the penicillin
without a prescription. This morning I had a high fever and decided to just
go into the emergency room. I am glad that I did, because I found out the
antibiotic was the wrong kind for the pneumonia that I have. So, now I have
the correct prescription and probably one huge bill! But, at least I will
get over this. And to those that stood up and told me to, basically, get my
head out of my arse..... thank you.

Sometimes that's what support is. I am so glad you took care of this. You
can just pay the one ER bill off a little at a time. It would have been
much worse if you had ignored it and ended up inpatient for several weeks.
Now that's EXPENSIVE!!!!

Get well soon!

You're welcome.

Personally, I'd rather talk _with_ you than about you.

Get well soon.

Sherry,

I'm so glad you decided to go to the ER. Even with a huge bill, at least you
will be alive to pay it......

Take care of yourself,
Bev

In article <vp5r4e1754ic46@corp.supernews.com>, justme@aol.com says...
Whew! This is a relief! We were concerned...

In addition to the prescription, did they give you
instructions on how to care for yourself beyond
rest in bed, drink plenty of fluids, etc, etc?
Did they give you an inhaler to help your breathing?
Is your appointment with your doctor still on for
Thursday so you can get further care?

We're still concerned.

Your'e welcome, Sherry.

Welcome to asd, the group that tells it like it is! LOL

Now, DO continue to take good care of yourself, and get better, or
you'll HEAR about it! Ha ha.

Yes we care.
Well, most of us do. We do get our share of trolls and spammers
here, and they don't care about anyone but themselves. Please
ignore them, kill file their posts if you can.

I do understand how you felt. My husband and I both recently had the
flu, and logic and reason seem to depart at such times. The
thinking part of our brains just quits. And although the illness is
making us unable to make rational decisions, we still hate to have
anyone else tell us what to do.

I'm just happy that we DID get through to you, and you took the
appropriate action. As Alan said, a huge sigh of relief. If we
lived close by, we would have literally dragged you to the ER that
very day! Kicking and screaming if necessary! (Grin)

Please let us know how you go, and when you're better, we'll still
be here to help with any questions re general diabetic management as
well.

All the best,

Annette

Glad you're on the rocky road to recovery. Be sure to get a pneumonia
vaccination when the doctor's say you can. Did you get your flu shot
as well?

It's a hell of a lot cheaper to get the shots than deal with the ER
bill.

Glad to hear you are doing better. Sometimes we need a good "talking" to, so
we can get on with doing what we need to do!

Speedy recovery to you!
