Ideas as to why, I have none. The only comment is: I get the same effect
from injecting, which I do, not pumping, which you do.

RK,
I never really thought about it. But, your message may be timely for me. I
have been using the lower part over the last couple of weeks, and have
noticed more hypos than normal. (But, I've also had some hand surgery and
have been fighting a cough. So, my sugars have been a bit haywire.)
I think that overusing a particular area leads to scar tissue that can
hinder the even absorption of insulin, so maybe that has something to do
with it??? I tend to use the upper abs more than the lower.
Have a happy new year.

you find you get better results from one area of the stomach
when you inject or use an infusion set.
i'm noticing higher bg's when i rotate to my upper area of my
stomach, a tad bit above my navel area. as that i do when i
use below my navel area.
any ideas or comments?

Thanks Step,
I don't think i'm over using a particular area, i try to rotate
from left top, right bottom, left bottom, right top every 3 days.
but each time i hit the top area, i run higher for those 3 days.
i've noticed i have more "stretch marks" (damn kids! lol) on
the top then I do the bottom of my stomach. I've made sure
not to hit them, but.... underneath scar tissue might have spread
...
think i'll change my site a day early and see if theres a diff. might
be interesting a new experiment. lol
happy new year to you and yours as well.

RK,
I make sure that all the sites I use are at least 6"s from the naval
area, and not on any stretch marks. I feel the area where I want to
insert the new set, to make sure there isn't a lump or hard place there.
Before I was pumping I had lots of areas that were not good sites to
inject, but with less trauma from taking as many as 10 inj's/day....the
areas have healed up nicely. The only problem that I have is that when
I get on the waistline area,or to far down towards the groin area (still
stomach tissure, but lower)...mostly it is just the fact that pulling up
the pants over and over, the tape part of the set may come
loose.....have not noticed any difference in the bg's. As always YMMV.

When I saw the name of the thread I thought it was more about where to
find information on gastric bypass or abdominal fat. Boy was I surprised!
Sorry I can add nothing else to the discussion.

If I stayed 6" away from my naval, I'd have a hard time find a suitable
place to place my sets. Why are you staying so far away? I've been on
a pump since '96 and regularly place sets within about 2 inches of my
naval with no problems.

Dave,
I have alot of stretch marks (2 babies, with lots of excess fluid,
due to DM) and they all over that area. It is a YMMV thing, this is
just me, not necessarily anyone else. I have plenty of other places to
go, that work well. HAPPY NEW YEAR....mIC

Thanks Mic,
I usually do stay about 2-3in away myself, due to the old having a baby
problem :-) I do the search, seek and feel bit. Just odd, I have more fat
in my lower abs then I do up top. It's that poochy area, after birth i've
never been able to get rid of. UG kids gotta love um.
I did change my set last night to my lower tummy, oddly enough I've
ran about 100 instead of 160's. Go figure. Perhaps just for me top part
of my belly is out. Very true.. YMMV.
