Sinus Infection
Posted by Julie Bove

I feel very lucky today! Have been debating whether what I have is merely a
cold or a sinus infection. But after three days of BG in the 150 range, and
ever increasing pain on the right, lower, sinus, I called the Dr. at 1:00
p.m. and asked for an appointment. Was told there were none, but that the
Dr. would call back at 4:00 when he came in.

Left to pick Angela up from the school bus and a quick stop at the store for
more tissues just before 3:00. Drs. office called back and left a message
that I needed to be there before 4:00. I dashed back out and got there just
before 4:00.

Got right in the see the Dr. He said it is a sinus infection caused by
allergic rhinitis. Got two prescriptions, one for nasal spray and one for
antibiotics. By the time I left there, there was a huge crowd of people
waiting to be seen. Flu is running rampant here.

Got to the pharmacy and was told there would be a 45 minute wait. No
problem for me, but then another gal behind the counter freaked when she
heard this and screeched "No! The wait is more like 2 hours!" That still
wouldn't have been a problem. I didn't want to go home and then have to
come back, especially since we were supposed to have a snow storm that hit
around 6:00. They have since cancelled that storm. Yippee! And to top it
all off, I got the prescriptions even faster than they said and was back
home again at 5:15.

Now I just have to wait to take the antibiotic. Can't take it with dairy
products. Had macaroni and cheese for dinner.

Julie, I'm glad things were looking up near the end. Hope you get over the
sinus infection soon.

One thing - isn't cheese a "dairy product"? <g>

Thanks!
And yes, it is. That's why I had to wait to take the pills. They say not
to take within an hour of eating dairy products or some other things I never
take, like antacids. And then you also have to wait two hours for some
other things. I have determined that 9:00 p.m. is the safe hour for me to
take them.

Yes Steve, read what Julie said, again;

She is *waiting* till later in the evening before she takes the
antibiotic BECAUSE she had cheese in her dinner.

Do you see it now? (G)

Yeah I see it now. HAH! A case of responding too quickly before reading
carefully enough.
I think I saw it as "Can't take it with dairy products. Had macaroni and
cheese for dinner." Missed the 'waiting' part.

Thanks for the heads-up, Annette.
