Regular Poster?
Posted by Ronnie Ruff

Much is said by trolls about the "Regs" or "Regular" posters of ASD.

I would have this to say...

Those that refer to me as a Regluar post to this group more than I.
I would think then that they should take the lead in posting in a more
responsible way.

I have been posting here for a long time. I have seen many come and go.
Some of those that have left announced departure, others left w/o a peep.
Some of those folks were great posters, others were trolls.. and that is
the nature of USENET.

BTW, never, never never crosspost if you can help it.

Now just out of curiosity in a set of groups like asd and mhd why wouldn't
one crosspost? Or maybe alt.food.diabetic crossposting to
alt.support.diet.lowcarb.
I see that the crossposting that Dr.Mu crosses lines and is bad.
Now I'm not trying to start anything, just a kinda Hmmm thing. Or would it
be bad if I posted to asd and then made a seperate post to mhd?

Making depth 60 fathoms,

And you, among others, have abused some who came here to learn and made
the unforgivable sin of disagreeing with you and/or the others on
non-diabetic related topics.

And this says what about you and them? Remember, if you pat yourself on
the back too hard, you'll break your arm.

Amen to that. When I see more than one ng address I delete all the others in
my reply.
I was told about that when I first discovered newsgroups. Then, awhile back
when a long time ng friend in another ng did crosspost the same thing to five
ng's and I deleted all of them except the one where I read it, he jumped all
over me. He took me to task for deleting those others and said it was very
poor nettiquette. I told him that I was sorry he felt that way, because I had
no intention of crossposting - ever, if I could help it. I seldom hear from
him anymore, which I guess is as it should be.

It causes problems in many cases.
Better yet give me a reason to repond to a post with a crosspost? Want
more people to see your response?

i have often thought some posts can or should be cross posted
especially to alt.support.diabetes.UK and
misc.health.diabetes.
but it seems the regulars of those groups don't
allow flame wars and cross posts from this group
will bring this climate there and those regulars will not
allow it. that is the only logical explanations i can come up with.
why else would you deny newbie's the experience of the regulars of
those groups that do not post in this group.
JHMO.
too bad they don't get more traffic.
i have often wanted to cross post some of my posts and replies to alt.support.diabetes.UK
they are a nice bunch of gobs and they could use the business.
You should try it T2 even if you are not from the UK
The UK is OK 2 me

I make it a practice to not cross post. It gets
very confusing to me. I don't want to chase

spammers want to get maximum coverage.

I have blocked several e-mail people that
send muti megabit posts to many people.

OT My ISP has implemented a nice mail filter.
I looked yesterday and they had sent over
600 items to the bit bucket. I received
about six real e-mail's. The bulk items
almost always get trapped. Good.

Appropriate cross-posting, such as you mention, is good netiquette. It
makes good use of usenet design. Creating invidual posts to the two
groups just further clogs up the system.

Unfortunately, most cross-posting these days is inappropriate
cross-posting by trolls who are just trying to stir and combine multiple
pots simultaneously. Thus a very appropriate technique has become
associated with a usenet scourge. Some folks who haven't been on the net
very long don't understand the appropriateness of cross-posting in the
manner you're describing.

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Continue cross-posting appropriately.

I wouldnt know how to cross post even if I wanted to, which I dont, as t
is very distracting to me, I see names and I have no idea who they are.

Buuuuuuuuud lets go back down memory lane, you had a few political
disussions with myself and a few others here. Others representing the
right are still here as are there those on the left. You got upset when
after giving your share of digs you ran off crying foul. If you get in a
political discusion on USENET you need flame resistant undies. If you are
easily offended don't hand out flames as you did.

So now you pop in every so often to remind the group how abused you
were..

Sorry.. If one goes back and looks at the history you got in your share of
political fireballs.

Quit crying.

Hi, Dear Lady,

I apologize for my absence. I've been lurking and my email still works.

I thought I had a lot to share until I found that my beliefs would be
assaulted and since most of what I have to share is in my beliefs or
based on them, then many, if not most of my posts would have been
assaulted.

I guess I'm not a fighter anymore.

But ya wanna hear somethin crazy? We recently had a financial set-back
that required I stop using Splenda due to the cost (!!!). So I've added
a small amount of sugar back into my diet, about 1/100 of what I used
before my T-2 diagnosis.

And yet my BG's are staying down. Still not great, but staying in the
110-120 range consistently with one Advandia daily. My PCP says that's
"ok", but I'm cutting back more and more on all carbs. Heck, I'm about
halfway into an Atkins diet.

So why am I gaining weight (up to 265 lbs. from 249 lbs. when I was
diagnosed)??? That's the $64 M dollar question ( Inflation, ya now) . .

Politics Sex Religion all things that provoke heated discussions. Our
country has survived quite well with a two party system, both right and
left. They have always had opportunity to battle..

I like the bantering.. You seemed to then boom! went wack.. Understand
your weeknesses and don't get in the battle if you are going to just get
insulted and mad..

Advandia can cause weight gain. It is helping your body absorb the
calories you were pissing out before. If you don't already take it
Glucophage can have the opposite effect. My Dr RX'd both..
