That doesn't sound like gout to me, at least the blue fingernail
thing, It sounds serious. If you have gout your uric acid levels are
higher than normal, you find that in a blood test, did he have a blood
test and find out the results already? I would be seeking different
medical attention and rather quickly, blueness anywhere is not normal.

No, they didn't do any lab tests on Saturday. But we'll ask for some tests
tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know about the uric acid level test.
The blue in his fingertips is now gone and he said he's feeling warmer now and
the fever in the forehead is gone. The a/c isn't on too strong in the house -
in fact, I'm a bit warm (and I know I'm not sick... LOL).
All symptoms in his foot do point to gout though. So we'll see what the dr.
office says tomorrow. If we don't feel confident in the PA, we will be
squawking to have a second opinion or demand to see the regular dr., no matter
how busy he is. I have no patience for incompetence or fools in the medical
profession.

The gout stuff can be treated, I was worried about the blue
fingernails though, could indicate low oxygen levels in the blood,
(heart or lung problems amongst other things). Remember to tell the
doc tomorrow about the blueness.
