HIPPA doesn't prevent you from calling in for the results. They couldn't
call you and leave a message with the results on your machine but they
should be able to give you the results over the phone. A lot of offices
have really overdone compliance with the law. I signed a release that they
could leave message remiders on my machine. I have never had a problem
calling in for test results. It's probably CYA in this case.

Thanks Colleen....I wasn't quite sure what the HIPPA laws were or
meant....but when I go in tomorrow morning to get my results (if they're
back) then I think I will try to talk to the Dr and let them know that my
hubby works from about 6am until after 6pm....so they would be
closed...although, then again, I only have this done once every 2-3 months,
so I guess it wouldn't hurt me to have to go in either LOL.
