Edema can be a warning signal of heart failure. If you have swelling in your
ankles, feet and legs that hasn't been checked out by your physician, you need
to get it checked out.
Yes it can be hot weather, side effects of medications or from too much
standing or eating too much salt.
However, if its new for you, get it checked out to be sure what is causing it.
I thought mine was from medication, turns out it wasn't and I had an enlarged
heart, and a decreased ejection fraction. Lasix and my BP meds are controling
it much better now.
So please, always check with your doctor if you are experiencing new symptoms,
even if you think its "just water rentention".

Ruthie,
My doctor knows as it has been happening since she put me on all kinds
of medicine. She said it was hyperlipidemia but odd I didn't swell
till I started seeing her.
I also have a curved aorta on the right side leading to the lung and
she said that it was nothing to worry about as all it meant is it
takes me longer to pull through being sick than it does a normal
person. Is that true or if you would rather email me my reply to:
address is a good address.

it to you pronto. This Blackout gave me 3 extra days vacation!!!! Woo Hoo!
Anyway, it may be a combination of things... fill me in, my address is the
