I mentioned elsewhere that I'm developing ng paranoia.
I've been watching Ds with interest, trying to work out whether it is
a troll or just another smartie with snide remarks interspersed with
occasional well-reasoned comments.

If you bother to follow back to the web-site of the link mentioned you
end up at the "Center for the new American Dream", which, surprise,
has a section for "membership" if you wish to join their enthusiastic
campaigns to correct the ills of excess consumption. A laudable aim,
but I'm not sure I'd part with US$45 to join, nor am I sure how much
of that cash would end up helping that aim.

Persoally, "Dreamstar", if you are a diabetic, or a carer or medic,
I'm happy to reason with you at any time on most subjects, OT or not.
But if you have a hidden agenda to recruit members for "the new
American Dream" I would prefer part of that dream to include truth
rather than deception.

BTW [observation] have you noticed how when a newbie pops up and there have
been a few recently, the same cluster respond with the same old mantra and
very few actually read the posters message. Oh they read the words on the
screen but they lack empathy and consequently fail [often] to see the
authors POV. There are many examples, try reviewing some of today's posts
and cross refer back a week or so to see my meaning.

It seems to me that the advice given to "newbies" is quite sound and based
on a plethora of real world experience. If you want to refer to it as a
"mantra" then so-be-it. This "mantra" has helped many a person get in firm
control of this disease and I, for one, am appreciative of the group.

diagnosed. I can't speak for others, but I certainly read every newby
post carefully. If the advice sounds repetitive to us, then remember
it is not to them.

If you disagree with any advice, feel free to do so. For obvious
reasons I try to keep my disputes out of newby threads if possible.

Have to go now - seem to have mislaid my tinfoil helmet.

Sorry about the double response, but following your comments I went
back and had a deeper look at the other link you described as "heavy
going".

I have to ask, were you being serious or jesting. If the latter, it
was very subtle humour. I particularly liked the section "Hypoism in a
Nut Shell" - very apt.

If the former, then I have "reached a conclusion".
Apart from addiction, do you also have a thing about iron?

this is just another scam commercial venture in the addiction/recovery

like Alan stated, it's because of your behavior.

empathy? you've done nothing but troll this newsgroup since you
arrived and you talk about real diabetic's lack of empathy?

Alan, I think you've got the right idea, this is dreamstar's response to
an earlier post of mine. It think it tells what he is. He also posted
to alt.troll a while ago, search for it.

As a newbie myself, I can't say I noticed any lack of compassion or
sympathy. In fact, I found the group as a whole to be welcoming and
helpful. This group presents a (mostly) positive face to newbies.
