There was a study done, but I can't find the reference now. It said
something like aspirin can double your risk of pancreatic cancer.
But let's put that into perspective: Pancreatic cancer is a rare disease,
and hence a small risk. Heart disease is a big risk, just about the
biggest one out there, disease wise. So the tradeoff is an increase of
risk in a disease of very low probability, and a decrease of risk in the
disease most likely to kill you.
For me, it's a no-brainer. Of course, one study does not a truth make. I
also don't know who sponsored the study, so I can't judge their
disinterestedness.

I also read a story that showed that the 81mg baby aspirin is as effective
in heart attack prevention as the heavier doses. I don't know what the
doses the pancreatic study made were.

Chakolat,
Pancreatic cancer is supposed to be rare, but I know two people who died of
it in the past couple years, one of them in his 40s, while no one I know has
died of a heart attack during that period.
Makes you wonder. It also makes you appreciate being alive, since that's
one of those "one day you're fine, the next day you're on your death bed"
diseases.
