The government is not us, it is the people we vote for to represent us. If you have a problem then we dont reelect our officials . Our elected representatives should vote according to the will of the people. I still say Children First no matter what the cost. JMO and I am not going further with this, Anyone wanting the last word can have it, I dont want to get into a political debate. Loretta

The not-so-good-news: I haven't been posting much lately. Our dog Prince developed a tumor a couple of months ago and has been going downhill since then. We finally decided last week that he'd had enough. It's been a tough time for both of us. He has been with my husband for 12.5 years - that's longer than his previous marriage! The Good-News

Diagonized Type 2 since March 2001. With the help of 10 mog Glipizide and regular exercise I manage decent BG numbers thru the day (usually under 150 - post meals) - but I just cant get my Morning numbers belwow the 200 mark - tried all kind of things to no avail. I am aware of and have read quite a bit about the dawn phenomenon and such. My doc seems to go by the Ha1c numbers which have improved well ( from 11.4 down now to 7.3 - he says as long as the downward trend exists

Yet another point to confuse me. I am alleged to be insulin resistant, yet this definitely does not happen to me. If I consume enough high G.I. carbs, I get higher BGs than allegedly normal people. But that is the only way I can get high BG. No dawn effect, BG most of the time 90 mg/dL or lower.

I am reading the July copy of Self magazine. There is a blurb in the Health Flash column that says the length of your thighs may predict diabetes risk. Says the average thigh length of a person with diabetes is 15.4 inches, versus 16 inches for a person without diabetes. It says the researchers suspect that poor nutrition early in life may contribute to growth problems and diabetes. I just measured my thighs. Now I am assuming they mean the inside leg measurement. If so, my thighs are a...
