I am too simple for the exotic food schemes
So I just eat about the same things as a normal
person and use the meter to find out how things
work.
How can recipe diets fit all when diabetes is a
wide range of conditions. It all comes down
to Jennifer's test,test ,test.
Fixed diets and other diabetic fixed schemes are from
the days when I first had diabetes. Ancient It did not work
for me. But listening to a lot of diabetics here and
carefully picking what fits has been a big plus.
But too damn late. Is it too late for you?

Hi Guy.
Thanks for taking the time to remind all of us that a diet that is healthy
for our bg does not require exotic food choices.
Mom and I spent a lot of time and energy testing to find out how normal
every day foods effected her bg. Now that we know more about food,
nutrition, and how her body processes food we can devise an "eatable" menu
regardless of where we are and what is being served.
The meter is your friend!
Eat to the meter!
Two mantras we learned here that we apply to life every single day.
Some would say it is too late for Mom because she wasn't diagnosed until
major damage was done. However, all of her docs stress that her good
control is going a long way to preserve what hasn't been damaged, and
slowing the damage that is now irreversible.
In fact, Mom's neph is adamant that her good bg control is what has helped
stabilise her kidney failure.
