Yes, but I am big-headed enough to claim myself the king of all
pastry-makers of all time, past, present, and future. I got trained by my
Grandpa Brown, before the 14-18 Great War he had the biggest bakery business
in Lincs, 5 horses-and carts on the road delivering every day!

If I weren`t diabollocks, I`d be making a lot more pastry than I do.

Yes it is contradictory, and I think that`s a good thing. Predictable

I envy you and Al, you need a jackhammer to slice my apple pie. But
I roast a goose like nobody's business! :-) I'll go easy on the goose
and the roast veg from now on, but I'll still have some this yuletide.
And the other stuff is all low-fat, low-carb, even the cheesecake, so it
should be okay, I think.

Happy mid-winter pig-out, everyone!

Lotsa love,

Maggie

You are right to warn your nephews and neices.
diabetes was noted in the past as appearing in uncle-neice or aunt-nephew
combinations.
It was also noted as occuring in reverse in families - a grandson/daughter
developed it and everybody wondered where it came from, then one of the
parents developed it later and finally a grandparent was diagnosed and the
pathway was obvious after all.

The genetic element of T2 is a sobering thought since it tends to suggest
that all T2s are ultimately related and share common ancestors in the remote
past. Mind you genealogists tells us that every English person is descended
from King John ( died 1216 ) through one of his seventeen children so that
has to be true anyway.
My sister has done some family tree stuff that goes back hundreds of years.
I was toying with the idea of concentrating on death certificates, cause of
death, underlying diseases and perhaps try to do a diabetic family tree. A
number of my relations have it and if we did DNA samples it might help
reveal the genes responsible.
