OT : chores you could do without (non beauty)
Posted by Ami

The beauty chores thread reminded me of one particular non beauty chore
I could do without.
I know cleaning is going to be a big one, but what everyday thing bugs
you (perhaps irrationally) the most.

Mine:
Getting gas- I hate it and feel put out that I have to pause from my
precious day to fill up.

Second would be doing dishes- I don't have a dishwasher. It only takes a
few minutes, but I really have to force myself to do them.

Why is it things that take the shortest amount of time that annoy me the
most?

I think this is great.
I hate cleaning the bathroom..... sweeping floors (since the dog goes after
the broom)
laundry. I don't mind doing it, moving it, it's the folding!

Putting stuff away...anything...doesn't matter.
I will wash it, cook it, buy it, dry it, fold it, but
someone has to put it away dammit.

I have three dishwashers and I still hate it. This is my number one hated
household chore. I think it stems back to the fact that my mother was not a
cook that picked up after herself when she cooked and I was the chosen one
who had to clean up afterwards. I do pick up as I go because of my mother
and not wanting to leave my kitchen looking like this for someone else to
clean. You are hard pressed to know I have been cooking as I clean as I go.
I still hate it.
I love getting gas as I love driving my car. This is one of my greatest
pleasures in life.

Haha, the broom thing made me laugh. We have a central vac and the motor
and container is in the dog room. Gucci barks non- stop when it's going.
If they are near the actual vacuum hose, they viciously growl at it and try
to attack it.

I think he actually likes it. It gives him a reason to show off in front of
Baby. He's her protector.

Hands down, cleaning the floors. Vacuuming, mopping, cleaning grout, all of
it.. if I go to hell when I die, it will be a endless tile floor that I have
to clean for all eternity. All other cleaning activities I find almost
therapeutic and somewhat enjoyable, but floors.. *shudder*.

: Spray them with Easy- Off oven cleaner and wait a
bit and hose them off. This works great.

Let her help. Just let her do the unbreakable things.

Cleaning the cat's litter box
Scooping dog poo
Cleaning the toilet

These I hate because of the disgust-o factor. Other chores I dislike:
Putting clean laundry away
Putting clean dishes away
Filing
Cleaning the refrigerator/defrosting the freezer
Cleaning the oven (P. U.)

Ironing - it's worse than liver imho. A labor of love alone that makes me
iron my husbands work clothes.
