I just watched this segment as I was eating my lunch and before going
off to work. I probably won't be buying any of these products because
I'm on a strict budget after finding out that I'm pregnant. Some of
these products look really interesting. I know there are a lot of creme
de la mer users out there, but does anyone use any of the other products?

BIZARRE BEAUTY
Beauty products these days are getting more and more exotic. But have
you ever heard of cleanser that contains shark oil or a face cream that
uses snail secretions? With the help of our beauty expert, Nadine
Baggott, we take a look at some of the weird and wonderful products on
the market that use ingredients you wouldn't normally expect to find in
your bathroom.
Creme de la Mer - The Refining Facial. RRP £60. Creme de la mer have
incorporated pure diamond powder into the blend. The microscopic
particles are extremely gentle and efficient in lifting dead skin cells,
dirt and debris from the skin's surface.
La Prairie have an entire range of skincare products containing caviar.
We have their Skin Caviar (£79 for 50g) and Caviar Concealer &
Foundation (£90). Caviar has great nourishing properties, and reduces
the degradation of collagen.
Matis also use caviar in their Le Masque and Le Jour face creams (£37 &
£56 - both 50ml).
Guerlain Divinora Pure Radiance. A protective, moisture-retaining gel
for the face. Contains gold in suspension. The gold blends in with the
skin, giving it radiance with or without make-up. £34 for 30ml.
Elicina is a skin re-generation cream that contains the secretion of
snails. The healing properties of the secretion was discovered in 1980
by Chilean snail farmers, who bred the creatures for export to France.
They realised that the cuts on their hands healed very quickly, and that
their skin became softer after handling the snails. The secretion is
harvested without the snails being harmed. Elicina can help reverse the
signs of ageing, as well as assist in the healing of scars. £39.99 for a
40 gram jar.
Ella Baché Lait à l'Huile de Requin: this cleanser contains shark oil,
similar to sebum, which helps to soften the skin. £20.45 for 200ml.
Crème Intex: skin cream with cod halibut oil. Favourite of Nicole
Kidman. Cod halibut oil was used by American doctors in First World War
to treat burns. Has healing properties, and therefore good for dry skin.
£21 for 50ml.
Fresh produce a face cream containing extract of shitake mushrooms and
rice bran, which help to nourish the skin. £60 for 30ml.
