- Cheap (Beauty or Fashion) Thrills???
- Posted by Vicki in DC
DH had to make a Walmart run the other night and poking around the
bath/beauty area, I found a Mary Kate and Ashley Energize Spa Set for
$2. How could I resist? What have you been unable to resist? On a
related note I'd love to hear the latest anyone's found at Big Lots
and the other closeout stores since surely *they* will count as cheap
thrills too!
And a few summer fashion and accessory items are also still around on
clearance....what have you found and love?

Suave conditioner, mousse. Herbal Essences conditioner. Cheap American
conditioners in lovely fruity combos... finishing up my VO5 Kiwi Lime Squeeze
conditioner in another few uses.
Also love the Revlon Lipglide Sheers...

The Jane eyeshadows, for one. I love buying these because they're cheap, good,
and fun!
I bought 3 new pairs of plain flip flops not long ago, too. I'm not really
wearing flip flops anymore right now, but now I'm all set for next summer. I
got white, black, and red. I wanted new pink ones but couldn't find them in my
size. The flops were $3 a pair.
At the mall recently, I bought a very plain black sundress. It's was on a
clearance rack for $5. Five dollars for a dress! I wish they'd had more.
Anyway, it's black linen, 2-inch straps, cut straight across the top of the
bodice, and hits me right below the knees. Like I said, very simple, but I
know I'll wear it next summer.
Fun thread, Vick! -- Beckie

I had to get some groceries at Sam's club today and bought a 2-pack of
really nice down pillows for $15. Beauty sleep is AF related, right?
I
also stopped by Big Lots while on that side of town, and bought some St.
Ives apricot facial cloths (2.99), a tube of Totally Juicy Berry Cream Scrub
(1.99), and a bag of Healing Garden body soak (best bath product ever) in
Gingerlily for $2.99.
Also Big Lots related, I am loving Physique volumizing shampoo/conditioner,
which I bought an embarrassingly insane amount of when I found a 2-pack
shampoo and conditioner there for $3.99.
Dove day crème has quickly become a holy grail for me.. I can't get over how
great it is, and you can *always* find it on sale somewhere in conjunction
with a coupon. Totally Juicy products are very cheap, work surprisingly
well, and have amazing scents. As always, BBell lipsmacker in Dr. Pepper is
a classic that I wear at least a couple times a week.
Until Christmas I am on a stricter budget, so this thread is perfect, Vicki!

Love Sam's Club. Sometimes they have great deals on toiletries. I bought a
HUGE box of Olay Facials for Sensitive Skin. I swear since I cut them in
half (I use a full one in the PM and half a cloth in the AM) I'll have a
year's supply - lol.
Wow, great deal.
I just bought the Night Cream today. I already love the sensitive skin
wash, even the foaming wash doesn't dry me out (the only foaming wash to not
dry me out ever).

At one of my secret shopping places:
2 new with tags, undamaged, perfectly fitting sheath dresses by Karen Scott
(generally found at Lord & Taylor, etc.) for only $1.50 each!
and more shocking...
while in line, I spied Cle de Paeu cosmetics behind the counter! and even
more shocking... i didn't have time to inspect what they had!! So, I'm
returning first thing Saturday morning.

I love cheap thrills and getting a bargain. I'm also saving up for that
house...

toes, a strap & buckle across the instep, and a kitten heel. Very cute.
They were marked down to $9.99, then an additional 75% off that, so I got 2
pairs of shoes for 5 bucks. Even if I only wear them once, I'll have gotten
my money's worth.

I've been into drugstore hair stuff lately...got V05 Strawberries & Creme
shampoo and conditioner (smells divine!) for 89 cents a piece at Kroger. I got
a pair of khaki boot cut jean type pants at Cato were originally $29.99 marked
down to $13. All of my beauty and fashion thrills are pretty cheap, except for
my Clinique habit, but I have decided to not buy any for a long while. It's
already been a couple of months (yaay!). When I run out of Clinique skincare,
I'm going to try Dove. The only thing I would replace is my Clinique
foundation. Pantene was on sale at Target so I got Classic Clean shampoo and
conditioner,...

I read a magazine article where the dermatologist interviewed said that the new
Dove skincare products were really state-of-the-art and the most exciting
advances in skincare around.
