Hiya, I was diagnosed about 2 years ago with R.A. and am finally learning to live with this horrid disease. I am constantly in pain and find that this is the hardest thing to cope with but one thing I have found is that stress contributes to pain so I try and stay cool. Does anyone else have pain when they get stressed or is it just a coincidence?

- I have Psoriatic Arthritis -- What to do?
- Posted on 04-11-2004 | 4 Comments
I've been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, and have been taking Methotrexate for about 3 years now. Last year, my doctor started me on "Remicade", which has proven to be very helpful for my condition. Well, my health care provider has recently decided to stop covering this because it is so expensive. Expensive for them, there is no way that I can afford it? If I have to pay for this service by myself, it will be thousands and thousands of dollars each year. I've been scouring the web...
- Glucosamine: 1500mg once a day vs. 500mg three times a day?
- Posted on 04-10-2004 | 1 Comments
Does anybody have any information regarding the body's ability to process 1500mg of Glucosamine in one tablet, as oppossed to 500mg tablets taken three times daily? I know with Vitamin C, the body can only process so much and then urinates out the rest of it. Does this apply to Glucosamine? I would rather take one tablet daily given the option. Thanks, Bryan Walton

I have just recently been diagnosed with arthritis (RA) and am in pain about 80% of the time. My shoulders, knees, hands, and especially back hurt. What is the pain level of some other arthritis sufferers out there? Does it ever stop?
- Naproxen Sodium
- Posted on 04-05-2004 | 3 Comments
Yesterday, I went to see my doctor because the Vioxx that I had been taking was not working. Anyhow he put me on Tramadol (Ultram) and Naproxen Sodium. Isn't naproxen sodium found in over the counter medications such as Aleve. Why the prescription? Is it more stronger? I did notice that it was around 540 mg. Kathy

I'll be having some carpal tunnel surgery performed but there is a long wait and it will probably be at least 8 months until the procedure is performed. Is there anything in particular I can do to alleviate the pain? It becomes very problematic when I sleep as the cramps often awakens me. Any suggestions will be sorely appreciated.

- Psoriatic arthropathy and tendons
- Posted on 03-05-2004 | 1 Comments
Hi - First time posting here. My partner (female) is looking for anyone who also has psoriatic arthropathy (the form of psoriasis that goes into the joints, producing a sort of arthritis) and tendon involvement. She discovered only relatively recently that pain from the tendons is a serious part of the condition too, and would like to be in touch with anyone else in this boat, and talk about experience, remedies etc. Cheers!

Our mission is to help as many people in our society live as long as they can so they can fully enjoy their retirement years. After all, aren’t we all working daily towards this common goal? If you are between the ages of 20 and 95 it is very important that you look inside yourself and do a check-up from the neck – up! What are you consuming on a daily basis? There are two ways that we consume things daily…actively and passively. Actively, we control what we introduce into our body, and...
- What type of arthritis?
- Posted on 03-05-2004 | 4 Comments
Last spring I was diagnosed with having arthritis. This was kind of surprising to me since I turned 30 last year. Like a lot of people I had always associated arthritis with older people. My doctor didn't actually tell me what type of arthritis I have. He xrayed my knee and told me that it was inflammed. Is the inflammation associated with both osteoartritis and rhemotoid arthritis? If so, how can I tell which one that I have? I went to the a few years ago for soreness in my left hand and...

Hello everybody. My name is Tom Warner and I am a student studying osteopathy in London. My final year dissertation is about how osteopaths treat osteoarthritis of the knee. I would like to hear from anyone who has had, or is having, treatment from an osteopath for ANY osteoarthritic condition. I am interested in your comments to the following questions.
