I am truly sorry for sending you a e-mail. I was replying to your posts, and hit the wrong reply button. It was not my intention to send an e-mail. For this I am sorry. If it was not for Harveys' fast reply back, I would have never noticed the error. I would reply back to him, but his love for me, stops me from doing so. So I am replying for all to see and read.

- Question on Gout
- Posted on 07-03-2004 | 7 Comments
I was diagnosed with gout about six months ago. I've been suffering from it for about a year. I've had about five attacks in that past year, and usually they only lasted about 10-12 hours. However I recently had an "attack" start about FIVE days ago, and it has only gotten worse each day. What do I need to do here? Just ride it out? Is five days a long time to have an attack? When my doctor diagnosed me he told me all I could do is ride out an attack--and he prescribed me Ibuprofen for the...

- Total shoulder replacement

Nebie here. Does anyone have any experience with total shoulder replacement? Is the metal used for the shoulder replacement radioactive? I am sure it must be a dense element or alloyed. Also can a revision be done if the surgery is not successful? Any help would be appreciated.
- Anyone else have this Cox-2 side effect?
- Posted on 06-27-2004 | 4 Comments
Hi Guys - I was prescribed Vioxx, and then Bextra, for a flare-up in my neck/shoulder last month. With both drugs, the inside of my mouth got really raw, which resolved a couple of days after discontinuation. Has anyone else had this? If so, have you found another Cox-2 inhibitor that doesn't do it to you? The pain relief from both the Vioxx and the Bextra was really wonderful, and I'm hoping I can find one that will still do the trick, without this wierd and very uncomfortable side-effect.

- Enbrel syringe assembly problem warning
- Posted on 06-22-2004 | 3 Comments
Both this Sunday and last Sunday, I've had the hub on the syringe that the needle screws into, come off the shaft. Last Sunday, I didn't see the problem until the Enbrel leaked out when I started the shot. Today, I saw the problem happen. When I screwed the needle into the hub, the hub pulled up on the little shaft away from main barrel. In both cases, I removed the needle and pushed down on the hub until I heard a click. Then you could screw the needle in as tight as you want without the...

Hi everyone-I have a 5 month old little boy and when he was born, the second thing I heard the doctors say was "his arms are stiff". His wrists were so flexed that his palms touched the underside of his arms, his elbows so contracted they weren't even movable, and his shouldars also very contracted. No one knew what is was, living in a small town and all. He's been seen by orthepedics, neurologists, heart doctors, geneticists...you name it. Finally we took him to Shriner's Children's...
