- OTP Hearing aids
- Posted by Navy1
Well, I finally went and done it - I got hearing aids. I picked them
up yesterday and am now learning how to live with them. A few sounds
are surprises. I didn't know the dining room chairs (swivel type)
were so noisy! I also will have to learn to speak louder! That
surprised me. I have my first meeting at Toastmasters with them today
- that will be fun. One of the most pushing reason for getting the
hearing aids was that I couldn't hear one speaker and she got the
ribbon for the best speaker of the day! We shall see.
BTW I don't remember if I told you or not, but I'm planning on putting
some pictures from Spain, Germany, and Ireland that I took in 1997. I
just checked and I see that there is an empty folder! :-( I will
fill it this afternoon.
Well, time to get ready for Toastmasters. Here we go!

Hi Loujean, I hope it goes better for you than it did for me with a new
hearing aid. The high sounds that are loud just kill me and if they
continue,,,,, that hearing aid has to come out. LOL

Toastmasters! My hearing loss is in the lower register. I'm still
experimenting where to put the volume control to begin with, but I'm
wearing them with the same attitude that an optometrist gave me when I
got my first pair of bifocals. Just forge ahead and accept them as
there. I'm still in the beginning adjustment stage so can get them
adjusted down, if need be.
