week dose. For the first couple of weeks I experienced some fairly bad
side effects and was ready to give up on the medication. Under my doctors
urging I stayed with it. After the first two weeks my side effects are
minimal. How long have you been taking the medication? Hopefully you'll
have the same experience and the side effects will subside after a couple
doses.

I have AS plus PMR for ten years. I take Mobic and Azulfadine. In addtion,
I take a hydrocodine (Rush's favorite) and skelaxin ( a muscle relaxer)
prior to playing golf. Also prior to any physical activity, I straighten my
spine by supine stretching and arching.

Hi Arthur, I am glad you and your doctor are on top of this. The
time to do something about is wayyyy before any signs or bone breakings
caused by Osteo and you are doing that. I hope you get help with and about
your new medicine.

Hi Arthur,,,,,, I wonder if you now wonder how much better would be your
life if Enbrel or maybe Methx had been used years ago. Azulfadine or
Sulfasalizine is a fine mild DMARD and I have taken it for my RA but it
worked best with another DMARD. In Europe Remicade is now being used for
AS as well as Enbrel with great results where the changes that AS does to a
persons back and elsewhere has been cut way back from what normally takes
place.
Do you or can you still drive a car? I know several people that can
no longer do that. These are just some of my thoughts and I know you do
not normally respond to conversation and I always want to thank you for your
work here with people who come here to make a living off of people with
arthritis and trolls that come here for the many reasons they do.

I have noticed no loss of ability to straigten my spine in ten years of AS.

But with physical activity, I can feel my back muscles contracting, trying
to turn me into a pretzel. i restraigten it every 6 golf holes.
