Hi Madelaine,

I too have suffered from joint pain, mostly in my lower extremeties,
to the point I couldn't wear most of my shoes or walk very far. This
was arthritis but I also had fibromyalgia in my ligaments which caused
even more pain. I found a natural remedy which has taken away all of
my pain and made me feel 10 years younger. It's called Synthovial 7.
I've now been taking it for 2 years and feel wonderful I found it at
www.humanbodyrecon.com. It works by re-moisturizing the whole body,
joints, ligaments, skin, eyes, and they say, even the internal organs.
This is the only supplement I take besides a multi-vitamin and
absolutely no drugs. Good luck.

Got no help for you -- sorry -- but just wanted you to know that I read
the post. Shoes were the bain of most of my feet problems and since I
started wearing Birkenstocks, that is almost all gone. For some people
these are wonderful. For others, they are not. My mother is now wearing
their soft footbeds due to arthritis induced neuropathy in her feet
which was keeping her awake for all but about 2 hours each night.
Between her new shoes and a script for Neurontin, she is a new women.
Hope you find some relief.

Hi, I am 28 years old and have RA. My first pains were in my feet and
doctors thought I had stress fractures in my feet (5th metatarsals on both
feet). After 6 months of "stress fractures" not healing, instead pain
getting worse, I could not wear shoes or walk very far. I too used to walk
(although not as far as you) and was very sad when this seemed impossible.

I have always been a shoe person - i love them - and yes, try finding
something "trendy" or "fashionable" for a 28 year old that you can fit HUGE
orthotics into. Very very very very hard!! I too found Berkinstock sandles
to be great, however they dont exactly go with a business suit (which I must
wear 5 days per week). So, I have had to resign myself to the fact that I
cant wear my sexy shoes anymore - but it is a small adjustment to make to
help my pain levels.

In regard to swimming - I too experience pain when I 'kick' whilst swimming.
So, I put a floaty between my thighs and cross my ankles, dragging my lower
body through the water. It is tough on the upper body and takes a little
getting used to, but it is quite good once you get used to it. I am having
trouble finding other forms of exercise which doesnt cause pain. Yoga was
hard as there was too much balancing on one foot. Pilates was great as it
was all on the floor (no pressure on joints), but I did it too intensively
and ended up with a femoral hernia!!

I have also had cortisone injections in my feet like you - they were
sooooooo painful!! In fact they didnt help me, I hope they give you some
relief.

Goodluck - I completely understand your frustration and pain.
Take Care
Suzie
