Glucosamine: 1500mg once a day vs. 500mg three times a day?
Posted by Bryan K. Walton

Does anybody have any information regarding the body's ability to
process 1500mg of Glucosamine in one tablet, as oppossed to 500mg
tablets taken three times daily? I know with Vitamin C, the body can
only process so much and then urinates out the rest of it. Does this
apply to Glucosamine? I would rather take one tablet daily given the
option.

Thanks,
Bryan Walton

How does glucosamine help you? I took 1500 mg for two years but didn't
notice any real change. I guess I took it because I heard that it helps
knee damage and felt that at the very least it couldn't hurt. Last week my
new family doctor and an orthopedic surgeon told me that I was essentially
throwing money away and advised me to stop. After a week of not taking it,
I can't tell any difference yet. I am a 59 yo male with major surgeries on
both knees and still playing tennis twice a week. So I am interested in
your experience with glucosamine and that of others who are taking it. I'm
not sure yet if my doctors' advice is best for me.
