While research I stumbled across what could be a very important
discovery for people with fibromyalgia, and I posted my research
online. To find it go to google and type in "holladay benfotiamine".
I'll copy and paste the relevant case study.
Case study 6. Female, early fifties. Has had fibromyalgia for most
of her life. She has severe aches and pains. Report on days 1-8.
She ingested 600 mg benfotiamine once a day from days 1-8. She has
not noticed a decrease in the severity of her aches and pains. She
has reported that she sleeps about 50% better than before. She has
reported that she has about twice as much energy and stamina. She is
more flexible, and the severity of her carpal tunnel syndrome has
decreased immensely.
Update August 20, 2003 on days 8-54. She ingested 600 mg benfo on
days 8-40 and has been ingesting 100-200 mg benfo per day ever since.
If she forgets to take her regimen, she notices a difference within 24
hours. The other positive effects have not changed.
Update October 27, 2003 on days 55-122. Ingested 200 mg per day on
days 55-122. On day 122 her arthritis is about 20% as bad as it was on
day 0, and her carpal tunnel syndrome is about 20% as bad as it was on
day 0. The other positive effects have not changed.
Comment on October 27, 2003. Her carpal tunnel syndrome is more a
function of age than abuse. I would be very surprised if these results
were duplicated in an individual that got carpal tunnel syndrome from
abuse, such as typing on a keyboard for 40 hours a week on a continual
basis.
Update December 29, 2003 on days 123-186. Ingested 200 mg per day from
days 123-155. Did not ingest benfo from days 156-186. On day 186 her
carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis was as bad as day 0. She still
sleeps better and she has not noticed a dramatic decrease in her
engergy levels.
