I have a few questions I want to throw out there. I am a 45yr old
woman with severe bilateral joint pain. I haveswelling in all my joints
especially hands feet and wrists. Had blood work done that came back OK
but with very little vitamin D exrays were fine. I have been taking
prescription d as well as putting it in my diet as much as I can. I'm
on naproxil for the swelling. The swelling has gone down but the pain
is still unbarable. Is it possible that I do have RA but it just hasn't
shown up. Also I have a low grade fever and hard lumps forming on the
backs of my hands. what is the typical time frame from first onset to
a diagnosis of this disease. Any info will be helpful. Thankyou in
advance.

Symitree, I don't have RA but several on here do have RA and their blood
work doesn't show it. They have sero-negative RA which is diagnosed by
medical history and symptoms. Have you seen a Rheumatologist (RD, or
Rheumy). You really should because they are the only doctors trained in all
of the diseases that fall underArthritis.

Symitree, try to get a referral to a rheumatologist (RD) as soon as possible.
Those lumps forming on the back of your hands might very well be rheumatoid
nodules - a sure sign of RA. An RD is better equipped to properly diagnose
RA, especially RA that doesn't show in the classic way. That Vitamin
deficiency can cause real problems, too, but I don't think the lumps go along
with that.

Yes,,,,, yes, yes... Please do not get side tracked by vitimins and blood
tests. It is what you body is doing that counts.... and it reads to be
some form of inflam.arth. like RA..... Please see a Rheumatologist.
