What is psoriasis? Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease. It may be triggered by a number of different conditions such as infection or allergy. Underlying the development of psoriasis is a confused immune system. An autoimmune condition such as psoriasis begins when your immune system attacks healthy cells as if they were diseased. Many things may cause this confusion. Stress is a primary trigger. Other triggers may include injury (with psoriasis beginning at the site of trauma),...

Hi everyone, This is a very good discussion and some very insightful information. I agree it is very treatable but patient education is the key. I am new to the group and I wanted to let everyone know here that there is a new website solely dedicated to OA and patient education and understanding of the disease including the importance of pain management education, and some recent research, and links to other sites as well. www.IHaveOsteoarthritis.com There is a wealth of information on the...

Supplements Have Distroyed My Joints

the reason is not the supplement itself. The reason is that the underlying condition is emerging and that the condition is not being treated by the supplement. Regards drdoc <ouqxozmsriuyi@mailinator.com> wrote in message news:4b34f1a2-645a-45a1-9ee9-28461040062e@s1g2000pra.googlegroups.com...

if he loses weight and has improved general health then surgery with a total knee replacement is always an option for a festroyed knee. If surgey is impossible a cortisone injection into the knee will palliate him and that plus physio and hydrotherapy may well get him going again. Regards, drdoc

Arthritis knee surgery questioned (Deseret Morning News)
Posted on 04-01-2009 | 1 Comments

the original surgical procedure isnt mentioned on the link, but if its knee arthroscopic surgery, it isnt exactly latest news as several studies show that long term outcome between arthroscopic surgery and conservative therapy is not necesarily better. Arthroscopy works best for loose bodies or meniscus problems with locking rather than just a "clean out" As a rheumatologist i sometimes get concerned that the procedure is overdone and dare i say it money may be a motivating indication to do it.

Knee replacement 9 months ago - still not right !!!!
Posted on 04-01-2009 | 1 Comments

hi It is possible but obviously undesirable The big question is if there is infection hanging around. The orthopedic surgeon no doubt would / should have looked at this possibility. He should get a ESR sedimentation test and CRP blood test. If they are very high then infection becomes a greater concern. The matter raises the point - surgery must always be end of line not first therapy of choice as there is no such thing as 100 percent guarantee in life.
