Sudden mosquito bites - help!
Posted by Acnonymous

Anyone who remembers my progress will know I've cleared up my facial acne
mainly thanks to Klear Action. I've also been trying to get the oil down
using Panthenite for the past month or so (and before that B5 for 6 weeks).

Today, out of the blue, I got (count 'em) EIGHT mosquito bites all over my
body, in areas that are fully covered by clothing. I.e. it's not a mossie!

I know there's been lots of talk here about B5 causing these itchy wheals,
so I can now say that it applies to Panthenite also. The question is what
to do?

I've noticed little or no decrease of oil, but perhaps it has helped my acne
*in conjunction with* Klear Action. Should I stop because of these sudden
mosquito bites?

None on my face yet luckily - perhaps the Klear Action is keeping them away.
If so, this would indicate that bacteria are a partial cause, as the BPO is
on my face only and killing the bacteria thus preventing the itchy lumps.

I am on B-complex, in the form of the Life Extension Mix multivitamin
(high-dose high-ly respected brand). You can see the full formula & dosages
here:
http://www.lef.org/prod_desc/lifemixb.htm

I am also taking:
Omega 3/6/9 Oil
MSM
RNA
Acidophilus
ALA+ALC

Thanks in advance.

PS: At the same time I've also noticed as of today a sudden loss of
short-term memory. Normally it's great, but today I've been saying the same
thing to people twice, forgetting I already said it the first time. And
today I've been saying the same thing to people twice, forgetting I already
said it the first time. Seriously though, could this be related and has
it been reported before with B5/Panthenite as it seems a big coincidence.
Would drinking more water help with the bumps also?

You are losing your mind.

This has nothing to do with acne or vitamin supplementation.

How much Pantethine are you taking?

Mosquitoes can get under and through clothes, so I wouldn't rule that
out if you've been outside in the early evening...

But if it's not that..

Some people think the mosquito bite breakouts are the breakouts that
didn't get stopped fully by b5. And that these things are just
breakouts, but a b5 version.
The main problem with these things is that they take FOREVER to go away.
(This is how you'll know they are not bug bites, the b5 mosquito bites
last a month or two!)
I don't know if that is because of delayed wound healing (as sometimes
seen in b5 megadosing), or what the reason is..
You can drop your pantethine dose for a while, or keep it where it is
and wait and see if they heal on the currrent dose. I probably would
just wait and see if you are on 900mg.

Depending on your pantethine dose, the thiamin in your multi is fine,
the biotin might be a little low..

Nobody else seems to be being bitten so I don't think it's a mosquito,
especially as it happens when I'm indoors with no windows open, and they are
appearing under my trouser leg and under my jumper! Seems to be only on the
UNexposed parts!

Then I remembered reading about B5 and mosquito bites...

My dosage is 1g of Panthenite daily (2 x 250mg in AM, 2 in PM). I'll see
how it goes, but it's damn annoying!

Is this a sign that I'm close to achieving a drop in oil levels do you
think? Or if it hasn't worked by now, should I just give up anyway?

Thanks as always Kita.

Yes, it's Pantethine, sorry! I've been on it about 4-6 weeks now, but
before that I was on B5 for 6 weeks, so in total I've been hitting my CoA
levels for 10-12 weeks, or 3 months as you mentioned.

Just a bit concerned I've had little or no oil reduction. That said, I used
to get 1 pimple now and then since starting the wonderful Klear Action, but
I haven't had a single pimple for weeks now - I am totally 100% clear of new
acne! So maybe there has been a tiny but significant effect from the CoA
levels increasing. We shall see, but these wheals better go away. 'Must...
resist... scratching...'!

Just to update this thread, the bites have stopped appearing after 2 days
even though I stayed on the Pan. I took some hayfever antihistamine once a
day for 3 days, but stopped 3 days ago, and the bites haven't come back. I
also used mosquito bite cream to soothe them, and I can hardly see the red
marks any more.

So to sum up, all is good
