Does anyone know what cause's the red spot after a pimples goes away to
stick around for a long time before finally going away? I seem to have
that problem and it drives me crazy. My face is 100% clear right now, if
you touch it, it is smooth. But you can see the red marks where the old
pimples use to be. They will stay on my face a long time before they
will finally disappear? Anyone else have this or heard of this, and is
there anything you can do to help get rid of them?

I know what you are talking about. I think using products that help to speed up
the skin regeneration help. I use this moisturizer that really aids in this, I
mean those spots fade so much quicker when i use it. also, I have found that
using makeup especially powder, really helps to get rid of this faster. This
is just my experience though.

Sunscreen and vitamin C (topical and oral) is the best bet. Red marks
typically take 6 months to completely disappear (at least in some), but
UV exposure can make them permanent.

There is a product that is all the rage around the acne boards called mandelic
acid. Peels are also supposed to help.
