- Questions on "peeling" and oily skin
- Posted by FS/OSS
Hi all!
i have acne since i was 15, now i'm with 32 years old.
have taken almost everything, including Roaccutane (20mg).
i have very oily skin, have to wash it three times a day.
should i go for a peeling, since i believe that the pimples that now
appear are from black heads and because my skin is not smooth.
if i try a peeling like glycolic acid or a microderm, would my skin become
less oily and smooth??? i don't mind with the scars (holes) only with the
red marks etc.
should i go for a peeling???
thank's in advance.

You may want to seek some medical advice before going thru those
procedures - you would want to make sure that there are no underlying
conditions that may be causing your skin problems.
I would start with a less irritating technique like microdermabrasion -
using the microderm cloth can help dry out those extra oils. In my case I
find that the microderm cream by bellederm works best for me in terms of
exfoliation & skin nourishmentt. The glycolic acid peels may cause a lot of
redness & irritation especially for sensitive acne-prone skin.

You may want to try Nucelle Mandelic Acid Serum. I used to wash my face 3
times a day. Now I only wash once a day thanks to this stuff. My hair is
still oily as ever though.

On extreme makeover they used smoothbeam over 8 weeks and ipl for post
inflammatory hyperpigmentation to completely clear one of their people. It was
a good result. Smoothbeam is great because unlike accutane you can do surgery
on smoothbeamed patients without the 3-6 month waiting period.

I am in my sixties. I have rosacea and adult acne. I have found th
best
treatment is retin A Micro 4% and clindamycin phosphate gel 1%. I
use the
clindamycin in the morning after cleansing. I only put oil fre
moisturizer where
I don't usually breakout. I use retin-a 4% in the evening afte
cleansing.
If you are very oily, you can probably use retin-a micro 1%. Thes
items are
by prescription only. I also use DDF benzoyl peroxide gel 5% with te
tree oil
in oily areas where I breakout as needed. This can be purchase
online.
I hope this helps someone. I have been fighting this problem fo
years
