Acne removal for oily skin (face and back)
Posted on 09-12-2003 | 23 Comments

Im 14, a guy, and ive had acne since the 6th grade. Its all over my face, except my cheeks, but mainly on forehead. The acne is not as large in numbers as it is size. I also have many red spots and in some places (only a few) the acne is hidden under my skin. I almost always have oily skin, and I use Oxy and Isopropl to dry my skin out, but in less than 30 mins it gets oily again. To add to that, I have acne all over my back, these however are a bit smaller than the ones on my face.

Demodex update
Posted on 09-10-2003 | 26 Comments

Well, I've been using the Demodex Solutions creams for a week now and I give them a tentative thumbs up. I am still getting some tiny spots, but that could be due to the fact that I broke one of the commandments for acne sufferers: change your pillowcase every night. I went into a funk and didn't change it for like 4 days, so that could have caused some problems. However, no "big ones" as I used to get. The spots I do get clear up much more quickly. My skin has a really nice feel to it. It...

Ghey thing is that the virus is always in yourself and it will activate every year or so. You can't get rid of it.

B5 & urine colour
Posted on 09-06-2003 | 7 Comments

Hi, 2 months after finishing my Roaccutane course and my acne's started coming back. Just in my T-zone and nowhere near as severe as before. But it's not a good time for me to cope with this as I move house and start a new job in a month. While I'm waiting for an appointment with my NHS derm I've been giving B5 a go. I've just been taking 3g of Solgar vegi-caps and 1 High Potency B complex a day, and to my surprise it seems to be working after only 5 days.

Klear Action versus Proacne
Posted on 09-05-2003 | 6 Comments

So it's been almost a month since I started using Klear Action (after using the Make-Your-Own version of Proactiv for years). I'm a bit more than halfway done with it (hard to tell how much repair lotion is left), I often use it just once a day (I don't want to wear white everyday ;) so I just use it at night). This stuff should last a month or so with twice daily use. Anyway, I wanted to pick up another pack so that I would have a cleanser version in the shower. I ended up buying the Proacne...

Murad Pure Skin Supplement has B12 and B6
Posted on 09-04-2003 | 8 Comments

Hi all, I have been lurking here for the past week or so, and am now shopping around for B5 (haven't decided where to get it from yet....any recommendations? I'm in the U.S.) Anyway, I came across posts about B12 and B6 inducing acne, and I ran to my Murad Pure Skin Supplement to see if it contains much of either, and it was like 4000% of RDA !!! I wonder if I should stop these now? Did anyone have bad experience with these?

Fighting oiliness and demodex?
Posted on 09-03-2003 | 7 Comments

Hello (I'm cross-posting to baldness and dermatology groups because I have been told that solutions both for baldness and acne might prove useful for my condition). I'm 22, male. I have oily skin, occasional pimples but I don't really care about the oiliness of the skin as such or about the fact that I have to wash my head every two days etc. Because of over-production of oil in my skin I have acquired a

Just started a 2nd course of Ro-accutane
Posted on 09-02-2003 | 5 Comments

After a successful course of Ro-Acc my acne came back on my lower and middle of my back after 6 years, certainly not as bad and i went to see my private derm, the NHS waiting list was 12 months!!!!! He prescribed me roacc no probs again, he only had a 10 second glance at my back and gave me a day course of 3*20mg tablets every day for 30 days Isnt this quite high for a 2nd dosage???? The first time i was on it i was on 70mg a day for 16 weeks

laundry detergent, shampoo worsening my acne?
Posted on 08-31-2003 | 8 Comments

I'm hoping that someone can give me some information regarding the effect that different laundry detergents, fabric softeners, shampoos, and soaps can have on acne. Basically, I have as little acne on my face now as I've had in 8 years back when I was 12. It was a slow process, and I still get the occasional small breakout, but nothing as bad as it used to be. However, while this has improved, the acne on my neck and back has gotten much much worse. This acne only started around age 17, but...

Can oil glands be "turned off" ??
Posted on 08-29-2003 | 7 Comments

I have p.c.o.s. and it causes extreme oil production on face and scalp, if there is a medical way to shut down the oil glands or remove them- just on the face, please let me know. Thanks, Yvonne

Hi! some time. That your skin isn't all that dry is mostly because your body adapts to the new environment! A more dry and healty looking skin :-) some time. And you will probobly see improvements even when off the drug. I did! I had a cumulative dose of 200 mg/kg. And it did wonders! Some people are "cured" forever, some people need a second course. We are all different.
