- Spots?
- Posted on 12-16-2003 | 6 Comments
Does anyone know what cause's the red spot after a pimples goes away to stick around for a long time before finally going away? I seem to have that problem and it drives me crazy. My face is 100% clear right now, if you touch it, it is smooth. But you can see the red marks where the old pimples use to be. They will stay on my face a long time before they will finally disappear? Anyone else have this or heard of this, and is there anything you can do to help get rid of them? Melissa Ann @~~~~
- Weather affects...

Here in Seattle it's pretty cold, with average temperatures in the low 40's (I know that's not cold for most people, but we live in a very moderate climate.) We just got done with a really hot summer (hottest we've had in awhile with also very very little rain), and the weather tapered off probably around the middle of October. During the summertime, I think the humidity was in the 80's and now it's about 73% (today). That seems like a fairly high humidity to me. About a month ago I started...

- Washing Face?

How many times a day does everyone wash their face? I use to wash my face three times a day but Dr said it was too much. Now twice ( morning and at night) but I wonder if I added a third time and applied the cream to my face would it really hurt? I doubt it.... Melissa Ann @~~~~
- A sad thing happened
- Posted on 12-10-2003 | 14 Comments
I've never posted here before, but something really bad happened down the street from where I live. This guy had really bad acne and was getting serious scars. Everyone always picked on him and called him crater face and stuff like that. The other night he killed himself. It has been told that when police officers arrived they found almost every acne medication available on his bed. Apparently he used them all at once and his skin broke out really bad. They say that's the reason he killed...
- Can hard water aggravate acne?

I've always had acne, but it was somewhat under control until I moved to San Francisco. I've heard Sf has hard water. Can that aggravate acne?
- Does Accutane really work?
- Posted on 12-09-2003 | 14 Comments
Does Accutane really work for acne? Then how come I haven't seen results after I finished my 2nd week. I'm talking about 2 LONG weeks. That's a very long time and to not see an improvment? Just getting worse? That's why I ask.....are you SURE accutane works for acne? If it really does then I don't see why after finishing 2 LONG LONG weeks, which is a very long time, there is no improvment...It just gets worse. Maybe accutane doesn't work?
- Burning?
- Posted on 12-06-2003 | 6 Comments
Anyone experience burning only when washing your face while using the Differin gel?( also using the Rosula gel) That's the only time it seems to burn, but it burns pretty bad. Besides that, everything else is fine. Face is clearing up a lot.... but still not 100% clear. Melissa Ann @~~~~
- Pantethine
- Posted on 12-05-2003 | 6 Comments
I have been on B5 doses 0.3-4.5g/day for 2 years. Last month I ordered B5 from podomedi.de and instead of B5 they sent me Pantethine. I wonder if anyone has some experience with Pantethine instead of B5. Should I return it or start taking Pantethine. Pantethine is closer to CoA, but it has different dosage and different effects on cholesterol etc.. Is it safer or not? What is a Pantethine dosage equivalent to 1g Pantothenic acid?
- Cutting out dairy
- Posted on 12-04-2003 | 7 Comments
So I'm going to try cutting out most dairy from my diet to see if that affects my back/shoulder acne. I already don't eat simple sugars and I don't eat refined grains. What about whole grains? These should be ok right? Damn, cutting milk is going to be tough. I'm into body building and I drink 3 protein shakes a day. I guess I'll try soy milk. What about yoghurt and cottage cheese? I guess those are out too huh? Buddee.

- Posted on 12-04-2003 | 7 Comments
Hey all, I`m a 23 knocking on 24 y/o guy who was on accutane or Roaccutane in this country 5+ years ago for moderate / severe acne. I was only on it 3 and a half months and the results to put it bluntly were amazing. After this I remained completely clear for 2 and a half years. Then gradually it came back. Nothing like beofre but back all the same. I went back on oral antibiotics but nothing seemed to help much so I gave them up and have been trying various natural / off the net products ever...

- Rotary vs. Foil Razors
- Posted on 12-03-2003 | 12 Comments
I have noticed that most people with acne skin prefer the electric razor to the non-electric. I have been using a Mach 3 and I think it is contributing to my acne, every time I shave I break alot of pimples open and I know that breaking them will just spread it more. I have never used an electric before and was wondering what is less abrasive, the foil or rotary electric shavers. I would imagine that the foil would be better, but I have no idea. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for a...

I've been taking chasteberry (herb) (1 capsule a day) this month, and I did not get the pms breakouts on my jawline that I always get. Huge improvement, I can't remember the last time I didn't get a cycle breakout (or five). My jawline and cycle are the remaining problem areas I've had... I take one capsule a day (chasteberry is also known as Vitex). http://www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com/vitex.html
- Hype About "Creme DeLa Mer"
- Posted on 12-03-2003 | 8 Comments
Heard about this product invented by the NASA physicist Max Huber? Anyway, I thought I would I put it to a test and so I did a search on Ebay. Got some a trial size La Mer Face Serum & La Mer Eye Balm (I thought the original Creme De La Mer would be too greasy for my needs, from the reviews I've read). I spent about $90 total for two 5 ml serum and one 0.5 oz of the eye balm. The first time I used it, I applied it 30 minutes after using my botanical microdermabrasion cream (also an Ebay...
- Accutane break out period.....
- Posted on 12-02-2003 | 8 Comments
How long does the break out period for Accutane last? 1 week or 2 weeks?? Isn't Accutane supposed to make acne better? So why does it have to get worse first? Doesn't make any sense........Sounds kinda fucked up. And but specifically what's the average that the break out for Accutane will last, and what can you do to stop the break out period once it's already started...... Thanks
- 2 Years And Still On B5 - Has There Been ANY Real Research Into This Treatment?
- Posted on 12-02-2003 | 9 Comments
This is just outrageous. As far as I'm concerned - we are basically at a point where we here at this newsgroup ALONE have proven the effectiveness of this treatment. It has certainly been shown to not be 100% effective for all - but there are cases that are all but proof positive. In my own case - It's like clock work. Take B5 = Clear Skin
- acne and birth control
- Posted on 11-30-2003 | 18 Comments
Hi. I was just wondering if anyone here has used birth control pills to stop acne. I've been on Retin A Micro for 3 months and it hasn't made my face worse, but it hasn't exactly helped. Everytime my face starts to clear up, around my period it breaks out. =( So my friend told me that it's probably more hormonal and I should try going on the pill. I just wanted to see if anyone else has gone on it to treat acne. Thanks.
- Serious Skin Care?
- Posted on 11-30-2003 | 6 Comments
Anyone have any experience with Serious Skin Care? They sell it on HSN and it looks good, but they sell it in kits and I'm not sure what kit to try. It's between the Acne line and Glycolic line. Acne products usually don't work for my increasingly broken out skin, but maybe this one is different..I don't have bad acne, but obviously I'd like to control it.. thanks!
