The Myth of Food Allergy and Acne
Posted by Abe M.

As someone who has suffered decades with this disease, here is my
opinion on the whether food can cause acne. Yes and no. Yes if you eat
certain foods. But it depends on what additives or chemicals are in
the food. That's why a No answer is also appropriate.

Why is there such a rash of adult acne in the US? More than in most
other countries of the world. We also have fairly high incidence rates
of cancer. When did the problem start to surface, and more
importantly, what were its causes? Here is my list:

1. Antibiotics. Overuse in everything from treatment to agriculture
and meat growing has led to ever more resistant forms of acne
bacillus. After a while, the bacteria are basically immune to
antibiotics. Antibiotics also interfere with the homeostasis within
the body.

2. Corn Syrup. White sugar is bad enough, but corn syrup and sweetners
are the pits. Coca Cola has been around for over a century. But when
they started introducing corn sweeteners into soda, it ratched up the
acne problem.

3. Preservatives such as sulfates and sulfites. Ever had a reaction to
lettuce treated with sodium bisulfite? It led to the absolute worst
outbreak I ever had, in the 1970's. Thankfully, this substance is no
longer used. But for those of you who get hives from sodium lauryl
sulfate, you know the connection. Biochemically, any irritation caused
by these compounds must participate with sebum, the bacillus as
cofactors that multiply your chances of a breakout.

4. Heavy metals and allergy inducing minerals. These are in many
mineral waters, and even in some club sodas. The only safe water to
drink is distilled water. I refuse to drink mineral water anymore.

5. Spices. Depending on the state of one's immune system (it
fluctuates in all of us), spices can trigger acne sensitivity, just
like minerals.

6. Certain Oils. Whatever they fry potato chips in is really nasty. I
can almost guarantee a pustule will form within a week of eating this
snack. Why haven't the asshole scientists who research the subject of
acne discovered this obvious fact yet?

I give up. I would have to starve to death to avoid this disease. Why
isn't someone working on figuring out the genetic factors which lead
to a sensitivity to acne and breaking out. Then block the bad enzyme,
or help my body to synthesize the right enzyme. Acne has ruined my
life.

Interesting points, Abe.

But you don't have to starve to avoid acne. You just need to eat whole
foods, avoid white flour and processed sugar to begin with. When I stick to
my diet, my skin is clear. I believe that food has everything to do with
our acne. I eat a raw food diet of primarily raw fruits and salads. I'm
far from starving.

This is because *our* medical industry makes tons of cash telling people
they have cancer when they really don't. One of my family members was told
they had cancer, got a second opinion, and actually didn't. I've known women
who had needless hysterectomies because their doctor scammed them. It is an
evil industry. I've also read data about societies who smoke cigarettes,
more than americans, and have NO instances of cancer. Go figure. In
socialized health systems the cancer rates are mysteriously low. Always
Always Always get a second third or fourth opinion!

</end rant>

that's very interesting. what's a socialized health system?

It's medical and hospital services for the members of a population (i.e.,
Canada, etc...) administered by a state agency and paid for from funds
obtained usually by assessments, *philanthropy*, or taxation.

In other words, you feel sick, you go to the hospital, you don't pay. Taxes
pay for it. None of those insane multi-thousand dollar bills for a hospital
stay. No 625$ tooth repair, etc...

I assume everyone does. It's just diagnosed more here in the US because they
make millions off of Chemo, pills, multiple surgeries, etc...I was told I
had endometriosis (female problem). They did a very expensive very invasive
surgery and then told me "Oh well, I guess we were mistaken, we didn't find
anything." Those bastards!!!!! I've haven't set foot in a hospital, dentists
office, or dr office since and never will. I'll die at home. I also had a
dentist who, every time I went, kept telling me "oh you've got another
cavity, oops there's another..." One time I got suspicious and went to get a
cleaning at another dentist and he found NOTHING! I ditched the other creep.
GD liars!
