- Important Questions About Acne Medication Retin-A Micro
- Posted by midwest_46@yahoo.com
Hi.
For many years, I used Benzaclin to treat acne on my face.
Benzaclin contains benzoyl peroxide.
Recently, I started noticing that Benzaclin wasn't working as fast as
Benzaclin had worked before. I thought that my face was getting too
used to the Benzaclin.
So, I asked my dermatologist for something new. The doctor gave me
Retin-A Micro (0.04%).
I have used the Retin-A for the past 4 weeks. However, I have seen an
INCREASE in the number of pimples I have.
The doctor said that I should use the medicine for two more weeks and
that, if I am still concerned, I should see him.
So, what's going on? Is there supposed to be some sort of temporary
increase in pimples before the medication clears my face? Can someone
explain this?
Thanks.

Keeping trying up to 9 weeks before giving up.
Are you careful around iodine sources?
I know iodine can trigger acne in myself as it makes
my skin oily. Even iodine supplements can do it
to me. Back in the day when Oroweat the bread maker
use potassium iodate, the bread could trigger acne.

Whenever I suffer an injury that needs to be disinfected, I use iodine
to disinfect the injury.
As for iodine-related food, I regularly eat kaiser rolls that I get
from a bakery. Also, I eat French rolls.

This is a bit unrelated, but CLindamyocin is the only thing which ever
worked for me. I tried a Retin-A cream and it didn;t help me at all.
Some peoplerespond better than others on that stuff. I'd keep trying
it for a few months just to tell.

The problem in my case is that I work from time to time as a movie
extra. So, if the Retin-A increases my acne for a significant period
of time, then I could be screwed.
