- Important Accutane question....VERY IMPORTANT...
- Posted by Dear MrPoliceman
Hey what's up?
How long after you finish your Accutane course can you get a tattoo? For
example say you finish your Accutane course on week 21, and since you aren't
taking Accutane after week 21 anymore......like what week 31 would be all right
to get a tattoo done, since you've already stopped taking Accutane for 10
weeks???
And also who has gotten a tattoo AFTER they finished taking Accutane and how
long did you wait to get that tattoo after stopping Accutane?
Important question.
Thanks, take care and have a nice day.

Hey DMP! ^_^
The brochure advises to wait at least one month [after course] before
donating blood. I'd say that is a lot more serious than getting a tattoo.
IMHO I'd wait 6-8 weeks and then say IF-it...
BTW-what kinda tat are you gettin and when is your trip to see your lady
friend?

Hey what's up...
Ok, well how come I"ve heard when someone wants to get resurfacing (whatever
that means), dermabrasion (whatever that means too), or laser procedures at
least 6 months after you stop taking Accutane? Well specifically it says this:
Do not have cosmetic procedures to smooth your skin, including waxing,
dermabrasion, or laser procedures, while you are using Accutane and for at
least 6 months after you stop?
But it does say cosmetic procedures, and you're saying that getting a tattoo
would be different? So for getting a tattoo you wouldn't have to wait as long
as that then? Is that right? Well the assistant asked my derm for me over the
phone when I started taking Accutane over 3 months ago, because I was curious
and she told me how long he said, but I wanted to know if other's would tell me
the same amount of time to wait after finishing Accutane... I was just
wondering what's up with that 6 month wait for the dermabrasion or resurfacing
(if that's a word)......but it does say cosmetic and a tattoo wouldn't be
cosmetic........but just wondering why there's a difference in time for a
tattoo and cosmetic procedures.....?
I'll probably get a different style of tribal armband on my upper left arm....I
already have 3 different kinds of tattoos, so this new one after accutane will
be my 4th. I'd also like to get a chinese symbol on my other arm next to my
other tattoo...
you still remembered that I'm going to see my girl........it'll hopefully be
this coming June....
Ttyl
take care

i dont' think donating blood is the same as getting a tat. just like in chemical peels/laser/dermabrasion..the
skin must be able to properly "reconstruct" itself when getting a tattoo. during and for a while after
accutane your skin is very sensitive and doesn't take well to injuries of any kind. So i'd say wait 6 month or
more..or better yet don't get a tattoo at all. If you change your mind you must pay a lot of cash to get them
off..and they last 50 years or more..

time..how weird.

I was told 3 months after you stop. By that time Accutane should be out of
your system. 3 months seems long enough.

oh it will be ...for shure. however, this is not about accutane being in your system. it's about your skin
being super sensitive after treatment. that sensitivity might not go away so fast. so your skin might
regenerate slower for longer than 3 month. i wouldn't know..i've never taken accutane..but that's what i
hear.

ok well that's why my question has to do with the tattoo........ Who has
gotten a tattoo after you finished your course of Accutane, and how long did
you wait to get a tattoo after you stopped Accutane? 3 months is good enough
and there would be no problems with how nice the tattoo will look? By 3 months
after stopping will the skin be normal enough just like before you took
Accutane? normal enough to get a tattoo about 3 months after stopping
Accutane? Someone help.
Important question.
Have a nice day people.
