Hype About "Creme DeLa Mer"
Posted by Problemskin

Heard about this product invented by the NASA physicist Max Huber? Anyway,
I thought I would I put it to a test and so I did a search on Ebay. Got
some a trial size La Mer Face Serum & La Mer Eye Balm (I thought the
original Creme De La Mer would be too greasy for my needs, from the reviews
I've read). I spent about $90 total for two 5 ml serum and one 0.5 oz of
the eye balm. The first time I used it, I applied it 30 minutes after using
my botanical microdermabrasion cream (also an Ebay find!) - the serum I
applied on the face and neck, and the balm around my eyes. No itchiness, no
stingy sensation, and no greasy feeling. My skin usually complains a day or
two after a product that it doesn't agree with - and I'll see bumps and
redness here and there, if ever. But this time, I wake up each morning
seeing a better looking skin from the day before. It's just been a
week...and so far...IT's GREAT! I've never felt my skin come to life again.

Other experiences on these products from the group?

Thanks,
Jen (not J.Lo

I've read a ton of posts on "lamer" cream <grin> . Yours is the first to
really say it's worth the $. ($180 a jar! :-O )

It's outta my price range , unless it came with a guarantee to stop
wrinkles and cure acne completely, preferably overnight

Update at 4-6 weeks? I'm interested to hear how it works long term for
you. I'll just have to live vicariously through your wallet!

(Did you get 5ml sample or .5 ml sample? If .5ml, check here for better
prices, they have the .5ml samples for $19:
http://www.external-identity.com/Face_Serum_017.asp
(and a 3 pack kit for $42))

(Oh yeah, I heard a nivea product is similiar to the la mer creme (not
serum).. i guess except for the part about the music and the plants)..

I got the La Mer Face serum at $32.99 for two 0.17 oz (5ml) sample bottles
on Ebay. I think the regular price for an ounce is $150! I don't know if
there's some psychological effect on me because of all the hype, but my skin
is clearer, and the fine lines and blemishes and the little red bumps are
fading away. I've seen the smaller size samples selling at less than $9 and
I hope you can give it a try, Kita, and let me know, too. But I will surely
get back with some updates after 4-6 weeks of use (I hope this tiny bottles
will last that long!).

Thanks again,

hmmm. the site i linked to says 0.17 oz = .5ml but that must be a typo,
I guess, if 1 oz = 30ml then .17 oz = 5ml, unless it's one of those
volume vs. mass issues. ::brain sizzle::

Must be the same size, but sounds like you got a better price, anyway.

Now that my skin is almost normal (thanks to vitex and 02 drops), I
should have a small fortune in skin care budget to spend on wrinkle
stuff in the furture.. better yet I need to make friends with someone
who buys this stuff so I can use it at their house! (Visit them each
morning and borrow their bathroom! mwhahaha)

:ff to stalk the Neiman Marcus counter for new friends:::

No, that stuff is overpriced, and other users say it is no different
then other oxygen drops.

I'm using Rose Creek "Vitamin O" drops. I bought it locally (healthfood
store). Someone on another board decided to try it and bought the Rose
Creek Spray from
http://www.betterlife.com/prod_home_...p?prod_id=4724

2 oz for $14.95, which is a lot more than the oxyzit gives you.

I put mine in a spray bottle, but I will buy from betterlife next time,
and get it in the spray bottle. It's nice to have the drops to put in
drinking water (makes it taste so much better), but spray works better
for face application.

Vitex aka Chasteberry Herb

If you get PMS or hormone breakouts (typically they are along the
jawline), this herb helps prevent them. More info:

I have used the original la mer cream and the oil free lotion and they
didn't work for me. They both caused some pore-clogging and the cream
was esp. rich/thick. I have a sample of the cream, and I've been
using it under my eyes, and that works ok. It's really a YMMV type of
product as some people have had amazing results using the line, while
others have suffered w/ clogged pores, like me!

I did use the la mer cream on a mild burn once and it helped it heal
quite nicely; didn't leave a scar. I do suspect that Neosporin would
have been just as helpful though... I'm almost kind of glad that the
La Mer didn't work for me as it's around $90/ounce but, I'm happy to
hear that it's working for you Jen!
