- don't eat fat
- Posted by Acne Emperor
For God's sake, I know people say it's not true.
However, it seems like anything like fat, butter, etc...
makes it right through the blood stream and pops out as
acne. Yuck. Stay away from butter. Ever notice how butter
and acne contents have the same texture?

Food plays a big role in acne. I have a good rountine I follow. After I
see my dermatologist, I do the exact opposite of what he tells me to do, it
works quite well. He told me that food didn't play any role in causing acne
(which is bullshit), so I started eating better and my skin cleared up. He
also told me to wash 3 times per day, I started washing 3 times per week and
my skin was less dry and didn't look nearly as bad. Dirt doesn't cause
acne.

You are correct. I agree on the food part and on the washing part. As I said
in another post, showering can cause ACNE to get worse. It's much better to
take a bath because showers can be like pimple squeezers, causing ACNE worse.
Furthermore, if part of your ACNE is healing, shower product chemicals may
somewhat interfere with the healing parts formed by your body, causing
further irritation.
As for fat, as I can say, eat butter and the next day it's out there. This is
not BS, cause I NEVER eat so much fat as butter on bread, and when I do, the
day after, it's there. All I need to do to get a zit is eat butter. Yuck!

Food may cause acne in some people, there is just no scientific
evidence proving that it does so. My acne hasn't really changed when I
made changed is my diet, so I'd say that food does not cause acne,
rather that the few people who do notice changes in their acne when
they change their diet, happen to be totally coincidental.

Carl,
You are incorrect. There are quite a few of us who know that our acne is
caused completely by our diets. I know that my acne is caused by eating
processed sugar, nuts, peanuts, using any supplement with B12 and the use of
tea tree oil.

I heard that tea tree oil helps with some people's acne. Anyway, like
I said... I'm just going from what I know. I may be wrong about the
'no scientific evidence' part. I just read an article along time ago
stating food does not aggrivate acne.

Hi Carl,
Derms will want you to believe that food has nothing to do with acne. If
people knew all they had to do was change their diet and eat healthy
foods...well, how much money would the doctors lose?
Yes, Tea Tree Oil is great for many people. But not for me.

Well I guess that makes sense in some way. But doctors are part of
some huge scam just to make money? To let people suffer? That is hard
to believe. I think I'm gonna do some research on this subject today,
I'll get back to you later.

I don't think it's really the showers that cause acne (unless your water is
not softened) it's the hot water. Hot water is really hard on the skin and
can actually cause flare ups. Of course, washing too much even in mild
water temperatures can be bad but try to stay away from hot water. Washing
1 to 2 times per day in luke warm to cool water and you should be fine, use
an extremely mild soap or cleansing agent.

That's correct, it's not the cause of acne for everyone but it is for some
people!

You're sorta right on this one dude. But not entirely.
Fat can be great for your body, you need it to build cells and stuff like
that. Anybody whose taken high school biology knows that. Just don't eat all
the processed, hydrogenated crap that's everywhere out there. That stuff'll
aggravate acne like nothing else.
If you have a hard time finding healthy sources of fat, then ya, forget
eating it.

Do you believe everything you read? If you read an article that said the world
is flat would you believe that too? Or if you read an article that says Bin
Laden is a good man would you believe that too? Or if you read an article that
says Bush is a bad president would you believe that too? Sounds like that
article was bullshit son.
- Posted by Dear MrPoliceman
Nope, you're wrong again. Total wrong. As usual.
- Posted by Chris Calder
I would not need to read an article that says Buh is a bad president to know
that. It is just common sense.
