- Does Proactive really work...
- Posted by RyanK
Well, they have the money-back guarantee, so it could be worth trying. For
me, it didn't help that much. But for a friend of mine, it helped him get
rid of his acne. So you may want to try it for 60 days and see what happens.
If it does nothing for you, just return it and get your money back.

Help!!! I need to know if Proactive really has worked for anyone out there
or hasn't work. I have tried pretty much everything I can find and so far
no luck. Any suggestions on some good products?
Thanks.

Hi Cindy,
It all depends on what is causing your acne. It didn't do anything for me
and when I tried to return it, it was a huge hassle. I would say give it a
try but if other BP products haven't worked for you, then this one might not
either. Plus, I find their customer service to be horrible and the returns
are NOT hassle free so that is a negative.

Here's the truth.
I've been using proavctive for two weeks now. I've had moderate acne since
I was 18. I'm 32 now.
It has changed my life, I swear to God it works for me.
I can't remember the last time I looked in the mirror and did not have
pimples.
My skin looks incredible, no more underground zits, no more
blackheads/whiteheads , no more redness. It's soft and looks so healthy.
But you have to follow the instructions and stick with it,
don't do a half ass job and give up. You will notice a significant
difference by the 3rd to 4th day.
This product really exfoliates your skin .I haven't worn cover up or makeup
in one week and I can't f$^%%$& believe it.
The only thing is you might become more sensitive to the sun, Proactive
sells a moisturizer with spf15 that's pretty good from what I hear. (I
haven't bought it yet)
good luck guys, don't wait eight years to try it like I did,
I should have bought this stuff when I was 25, it would have saved me a lot
of pain.

I believe, in my own opinion, that Proactive does work, to some extent. If you
suffer from small pimples, it will work. If you suffer from cystic acne, don't
even bother.
As a young teenage boy, I suffered, and was on the then experimental Accutane.
This was a wonder drug for me. Between Accutain and Retin-A gel, my face
cleared up with minimal scaring and pock marks. I was free of acne till my late
20's, then it surfaced again. On a course of antibiotics, the acne cleared up.
Last year, 2003, my acne again surfaced at the age of 35. I decided to try
Proactive and followed the instructions to a t. I have been using it for nearly
5 months, and have seen little if no improvements. I have since then canceled
my shipments.
Look at the main ingredient: Benzoyl Peroxide. It is in a 2.5% solution. Both
the Renewing Cleanser and Repairing Lotion contain only 2.5%. This is NOT
"prescription grade". 2.5% is a very weak solution. Benzoyl Peroxide is rarely
if at all given as a prescription anymore. If it is, it is perscribed as either
5% or 10%.
Proactive Solution is not a "solution" for acne, but rather small insignificant
pimples.
If you want a cheaper and more effective way of clearing up your pimples. thry
this: wash morning with Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Wash. Follow
with Clean and Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent. At night, again wash with Clean
and Clear Acne Wash, follow by the astringent, then apply Queen Helene Mint
Julep Masque. It contains the same ingriedients as the expensive mask that
Proactive offeres. You can get a big 8 oz. tube for less than $4.00 at
Walgreens.It really works....

Most I've known who've tried proactive had similarly good experience.
It really does depend on the originating acne cause, how well each
product works for each individual, but proactive does seem to get high
marks generally. (My own prob went away after a couple years.)
I've seen postings in this same ng in the past indicating that you can
get the generic active ingredient elsewhere for less money, but most
customers go for the product maybe out of brandname being familiar.
