Does Acnease work? please help a 22 years old
Posted by jeanne

Hey all

I had bad acne all my teenage years and had tried evrything from
Roaccutane, etc...what worked for me was hormones,a combination of
Androcur+Ethynil Oestradiol, whih was also working as a pill.
BUt now, this summer, I got a stroke even though I am only 22 and so I
had to stop my hormones
ANd now I am covered in acne again and i din't know what to do.
I don't want anything that would mess me up,so I saw Acnease CHinese
medicine could be gentle but it is expensive so I would like to know
how it works.
please let me know
thank you
jeanne

If you want to try Chinese medicine, rather than use a catch-all acne
preparation like Acnease, seek out a proper Traditional Chinese Medicine
(TCM) practitioner and get an individually prescribed treatment.

It seems like you have multiple health complications and qualified TCM
doctors can be excellent for these sorts of problems.
I ( reluctantly ) saw a TCM doctor after my GP had been unable to help with
a seemingly unrelated set of problems.
After a strange consultation, he went to his pharmacy shelves and weighed
out a number of odd-looking roots, twigs, bark, shavings and herbs etc, for
my personal prescription.
Following the instructions to the letter, in two days my symptoms were
greatly relieved and in two weeks had disappeared altogether.
A woman in the waiting room told me she had suffered from uncontrollable
psoriasis for 10 years. One month of TCM had cleared her completely - she
showed me her arms which had been covered in welts and scabs - recovering
beautifully.
Some say there's a placebo effect from TCM, but results like I've seen and
had cant be explained in that way.

That said, I didn't see the TCM guy for acne, but he listed it in his
literature.

anything "external" to cure acne, like creams and washes and all,
because I know it depends on something internal, the hormonal levels,
but I still have a hard time believing that Chinese herbs would'go
inside' and make my skin look better. but maybe I should give it a try
because now, after my stroke, nobody will prescribe me oesstrogens any
more, or androcur.
Plus I am on Plavix, so I don't know if it makes it better or worse.
Thank you for your advice, and if others had experiences with Chinese
medicine and acne, let me know

bingo, the key phrase there is "nothing external" will cure acne.. as much
as we sometimes hate to admit it..accutane is the only true "cure" for
acne.. thats just the bottom line.. however.. using a good combination of
topicals thrown in with some good suppliments or maybe some herbal remedies
can certainly improve your condition.. in my line of work we call that
"preventive maintenance".. the main reason you'll see most of us going
around in circles like some silly dog chasing its tail..is because we all
still cling to the hope that acne can be "cured" using something other than
accutane.. trial and error is the best we can do for now..
deuce.

Yes, that is it. Now that I have used a hormonal treatment that was
working perfectly for many years until I HAD MY STROKE, I know that it
is all due to dihydrotestosterone in my blood. The thing with Accutane
is that it prevents your skin cells fom reacting to this afflux of
hormones, it inhibits their reaction ( of getting ioly, etc...) but
the thing is I tried ACcutane before i tried my hormones and, right
after I stopped, it was all over again. That is because my hormones
are "too strong" and only the Androcur and the ethynil oestradiol
could balance them. SO yes, deuce, nothing external seems like it
could balance something as intrernal as hormones. Accutane could be an
answer for people whose hormones come from different glands or who
have lesser level of dihydrotestosterone.
MY diet? Since my stroke I lost so much weight due to stopping the
oestaediol pill+emotional stuff so I feel like I can eat anyhing. I
EAT A LOT OF ice cream, chocolate, but no other junk. AND quite a lot
of veggies.
MAybe chinese medicine can be "internal' and balance my hormones to
make my face lookable..
I WILL LET YOU KNOW,
jeanne

Of course, accutane is not the true cure that some say it is. Evidence by
all the people who have been on it and still have acne.

I get acne only when I eat sugar, nuts or take B12 (maybe other vitamins as
well). As long as I stick to my diet I have no acne. My diet is primarily
raw fruits and raw veggies. No meat. Ice cream will make me break out
rather quickly because of the sugar and the iodine in the dairy.

Take care,

accutane cured me for about 5-6 years, and has sinced moved me into the
"mild" category.. however i still cant imagine where i would be if i didnt
take it.. because the generation of any acne, can from experience be quite
complex..sometimes occuring so rapidy..or seemingly taking weeks to
develop..i dont know how people can say "i had a chocolate donut on x day,
and it made me break out on y day... with everything else going on in your
body, and the million things you come into contact with daily.. i cant
imagine how you can conclusively come to that decision.
deuce.

years suffering.
